I could talk about the 22hr&lt;span style="mso-spacerun:yes"&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;journey there, the thunder storms which kept us in Church, trying to wash 19 people with very little water, trying to get 11 girls to sleep, the children at the kids club, painting ceilings and mixing concrete, horse and cart rides, BBQs, Amys 21&lt;sup&gt;st&lt;/sup&gt; birthday, campfires, throwing up due to the terrible roads, the ‘natural spas’, washing dishes for 250 people 3 times a day, setting up a kids camp half way up a mountain, crayons melting in the sun, goats invading our clubs, listening to 125 boys singing ‘Awesome God’ at the tops of their voices in Romanian, each child we came in contact with, the families we stayed with, watching the sun set in Hungary as we travelled 10hrs back to start the long haul home, putting 5hrs in at Luton airport twice, Mafia, Empires, bug bites, 35 degree heat, or singing! I feel we have come to a point where we cant go back! Good food, banter, some worship and a few awards! It's sometimes hard to go back into the 'ordinary' world when you've had a break, or when you've been away! Some of us were skiing over Easter, and as soon as I sat down in class on Monday morning I immediately missed the crisp, cold air, the slopes, the craic, the community and, of course, the feeling of snow in your face as you tumble head first down the slope!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Maybe most of all though, I missed waking up to the magnificent views of God's mighty creation!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So if you have been feeling the same this week, enjoy these pics! Do we restrict Him and hinder His work in us by the lack of our own imagination? Are we holding on to a traditional image of Jesus that we learned as children - gentle Jesus meek and mild etc?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Let me tell you how I got to that point! The picture to the left is of the legendary Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones; the whip wielding, snake hating, Nazi fighting archaeologist! What does that have to do with Jesus and what I'm thinking about?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Well, in John Chapter 2 v 15, we are painted a picture of a Jesus that differs from one you may have in your head...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;"Jesus made a whip from some ropes and chased them all out of the Temple. He drove out the sheep and cattle, scattered the money changers’ coins over the floor, and turned over their tables."&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;Jesus wielding a whip? Throwing tables around? Maybe it is time we took another look at who Jesus was... I hear you may have heard my email last night.  I hope everyone is well and enjoyed Castlewellen?  God has been opening my eyes to his power and presence everywhere in South Africa.  I have joined a church called Harvest Christian Church, it is just overflowing with God I can't wait to get to church every week.  Last night though was the opening night of their on campus ministry and guess what guys.....it's called:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color: rgb(51, 102, 255);"&gt;Twenty20Destiny | Campus Ministry&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color: rgb(51, 102, 255);"&gt;A Student Revolution Impacting the Nation by Bringing About Positive Change&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"&gt;It just showed me how God works across continents, and it encouraged me so much and made me think of everybody at 20:20 at home.  I miss all of you and look forward to getting back into WPC.  For the first time I have truly understood what a church family is and it is the most wonderful feeling.  Thank you all for your prayers I am safe and well and am making good friends here.  God answers prayer!  I joined a cell of girls from harvest and we've been discussing how to lead a person to Christ....What should you say when someone asks why are you a Christian or why should i become a Christian?  So it has been really great as its something I have never felt very confidant in. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Last night at the twenty20destiny night some of our friends were in a drama that I just have to get a copy of for you.  It blew me away....the most powerful thing I have ever watched.  I don't wanna spoil it but it was about how 'other things' can separate us from God. God spoke right to my heart that moment and said 'I've always been here, waiting for you, wanting to be with you.  I've been trying to reach out to you but things of this world have tempted you away.  Please come back to me, I love you.' We went to the Panto and had a great nights craic!  I had decided that at a time of year when we spend so much money on ourselves it would be good for our young people to give some away to helps people less fortunate in other countries.  So i gave them some advance warning that we would be taking donation in the hope that we could buy a herd of goats (cost £60) for a family in Afghanistan from &lt;a href="http://www.presentaid.org/page/home&amp;amp;source=A003837?utm_source=Google&amp;amp;utm_medium=Paid%2BSearch&amp;amp;utm_term=Brand&amp;amp;utm_campaign=Present%2BAid%2BChristmas%2B07&amp;amp;gclid=CNPWjZOn85ACFQLilAoddjlarw"&gt;Present Aid&lt;/a&gt;.  I was overwhelmed by the generosity of a group of young people mostly aged 11-18.  The total raised was a fantastic &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;£211&lt;/span&gt; which meant we were able to buy the goats as well as pigs for a family in Nicaragua, ducks for a family in Bangladesh, a bike for an outreach worker in Malawi and a water tap for a community in Nicaragua! Not out of a burning desire to do so, but needs must and Marky was out! My lovely 95year old granny would be disgusted and horrified to hear that my fire-lighting debut was not until now! In the words of the late Lauren Cooper, I think she would say “Take the shame!” Yes I know it is quite shameful, but I’m not remotely a feminist and have always believed that lighting the fire is a man’s job, together with putting the wheelie bin out, mowing the lawn and venturing into the roofspace to retrieve Christmas decorations.....not all at once of course as that would be serious multi-tasking!!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:arial;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:arial;"&gt;Anyway, I was very cold, feeling both ill and sorry for myself and longed for the comfort provided by the cosy glow of a real fire. How hard could it be I mused and decided to give it a go. Well, first of all there was the horrible task of cleaning out the dust and ashes from the previous night’s fire. Very messy, especially when I decided to use the plastic dustpan and brush from the kitchen, thinking I was smart as it was wider and thus quicker. Well, not when embers are still quite hot from the old fire and the brush becomes very quickly unrecognisable! Duh! Is there any truth in that ‘dumb blonde’ notion? Mmmmmm? No comments please!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:arial;"&gt;Then i looked at the basket containing logs, broquettes, firelighters and coal, but hadn’t a clue where to start! So guys I decided to take the shame, swallow my pride and phoned my Dad for quick instruction. We then had a debate re possibility of it lighting without sticks and I refused to believe it wouldn’t. It had to. End of. Very shortly, my genius father had me making pretend sticks out of rolled up newspaper and carefully arranging with the coal (yes ladies this is why it’s a man’s job!) I struck the match and imagined my soon-to –be roaring fire. Well the paper burnt very quickly but the coal was completely disinterested and totally ignored what was going on! That was until I remembered about the aptly-named fire-lighters!! What mighty little beings! Just ready to ignite and burn powerfully so that even the stubborn coal couldn’t resist! Finally guys my fire lit and the coal, as it burned and glowed, provided such warmth, comfort and love to me!! &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:arial;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:arial;"&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;As I gazed at it with much happiness, I realised that God wants me to be a ‘fire-lighter’ for him. It’s his call to all of us who are so blessed to know him. He wants us to see those around us who need his warmth, comfort and most importantly love. A fire-lighter on its own is rather insignificant and ineffective. But ignited with the flame of a match, it becomes a powerhouse and so necessary to light that fire. That fire reminded me of church and 2020. When all the ingredients were there, playing their unique but essential part, the fire roared and was irresistible. It took effort to light it, and even dumb blonde mistakes made on the way. But the Holy Spirit is God’s flame that can light us and through us, help others ‘glow’ and receive hope of changed lives. Let’s be a part of it, at church, 2020 living solely for God’s Kingdom, being ignited TOGETHER by the Holy Spirit. Let’s be willing, for God to light us with his irresistible, overflowing love and offer His comfort and warmth to all those around us who are hurting, lonely or fearful . I hope you all had an exciting new year's eve, bringing the New Year in with style. I welcomed in the new year on Portstewart Strand and it was fantastic! In the dark all you could hear was the roar of the waves and the sound of footsteps on the sand!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So as the new year begins I am drawn to think of the year gone by - and to remember the many ways in which God has been good to me, and the many times when I didn't deserve his goodness! There are so many blessings that come to my mind!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And as I think on the year that is to come I see many things which I will face and struggle with. I need to lay these before an Almighty God, and believe that just as He was with me in 2007, so He will be with me in 2008!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So let us pray for all that 2008 may hold: school and exams, starting university, new jobs, Fusion, 20:20, discipleship program and Romania trip, 20:20 weekend in February, holidays. The Lord holds all these in His hands. It was awesome craic and special mention has to go to the female leaders who put ex&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;tra special effort in to their costumes as The Supremes. The highlight of this was the Surprise Mystery Event!  This had built up quite a suspense amongst the young people for the 2 weeks leading up to the trip and i don't think they were disappointed.  We had booked the Viking Splash&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt; Tour, a trip around Dublin on WW2 amphibious (yes&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt; land and water!) vehicles called DUKW's.  Here's a few pics to give you an idea! To recollect the events only to find that you can provide no explanation as to why you took a certain course of action? Perhaps this is a common feeling for some of us, but not for me. However, as of last week I can now be counted part of the club!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Why? Because last week, in a moment of blind stupidity, I ran full smack into a window. I was in a cafe and in such a rush to get outside I must have decided that the door was clearly not an option. The clever man goes for the window instead!! Now in my defense the window was very clean, and one could easily have not realised that it was glass and not air in that gap! Like I said, I have often tried to explain what went on in my head, but I can't - it's just one of those things I suppose! The bonus is, since I broke the window, no one else will be running through it anytime soon!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But anyway, as I lay there half embarrassed to death and with concussion probably making up the rest, a thought came over me! Despite what's just happened I should thank God for small mercies:&lt;br /&gt;- I had legs which enabled me to run, even into a window&lt;br /&gt;- Had I required it, there was a hospital 2 minutes down the road&lt;br /&gt;- I had friends around me who took care of me (while laughing hysterically I should add)&lt;br /&gt;- I went home and had a bed to lie on&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So next time you're stuck outside in the rain, Thank God that we have enough water. The next time you complain about homework, Thank God that you can go to school. In fact, surrounded by that Creation I felt the presence of God more than anywhere I've ever been! What was the natural response to that? I prayed, and it seemed like God was only an arm's length away! I was in a 'Cathedral' of Creation - whose walls were mountains and the floor was still water, and God was there with me! And yet, God was no closer to me there then He is right now! He was no closer then than He is when I'm having that crap day, when I feel like I couldn't be bothered, when the weight of the world is on me, when frankly God seems a million miles away! And so the next time you have one of those days, remember God and remember that He hasn't gone anywhere!!!!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I recently read a wonderful thought on why we pray and I thought I'd share it with you! It's written by an old guy called C H Spurgeon:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:100%;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:100%;"&gt; &lt;span style="font-family:georgia;"&gt;"&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style=""&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:100%;"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:georgia;" &gt;Prayer is in itself, apart from the answer that it brings, a great benefit to the Christian. As the runner gains strength for the race by daily exercise, so for the great race of life we acquire energy by the holy exercise of prayer. Prayer thins the feathers of God's young eaglets, so that they can learn to soar above the clouds. Prayer readies God's warriors and sends them out to combat with their sinews braced and their muscles firm. The praying believer comes out of his closet, even as the sun rises from the chambers of the east, rejoicing like an athlete about to race... Prayer equips human weakness with divine strength, turns human folly into heavenly wisdom, and gives the peace of God to troubled souls. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;font-family:georgia;" &gt;We do not know what prayer cannot do!"&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:georgia;font-size:100%;"  &gt;&lt;br /&gt;What a great thought! It made me sad because I love and miss him, yet on Sunday morning I was sad too, as I had to take him out of church for being bold…VERY bold!! But it’s forgotten as my missing him and love for him, far outweigh any frustration I might have had at his disobedience. That’s how it goes. It gives me a tiny glimpse of God’s AMAZING grace towards me and of course all of you too. We do so many rotten things which sadden God, but as the Bible promises, his love for us is far beyond what we can humanly comprehend and that love is constantly forgiving, accepting, nurturing and calling us.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You know the friendships where you can completely be yourself and trust that your mate truly cares you? Well that’s how it is with God except in a much much greater way. When you believe that God desires your heart and loves YOU unconditionally…it changes you. What sort of mummy would I be if I didn’t give Zack a cuddle goodnight, even though I had had to tell him off beforehand? It just wouldn’t happen and God, as our Father, PROMISES to forgive us when we turn to him. No matter how ugly or rotten the thing we have done/said/thought, He will be merciful!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Remember that today and don’t stay away from God because you feel you aren’t ‘good enough’ for him. None of us are without Jesus, yet Satan will lie and tell you God won’t accept you and love you…everybody else yes, but not you. That’s clearly not what the Bible says and it must hurt God when we believe that lie, instead of receiving his life-giving love. Yes the weather was pretty miserable at times but our guys are a lot of fun and no-one really let the rain get them down. The theme this &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;year was SBSUSM07 - 'Stand By, Stand Up, Summer Madness 07'.  The challenge being posed  throughout was whether we were going to be people who 'stand by' and be a spectator or 'STAND UP' for God and what He is &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;calling each of us to do.  The key speakers this year were Bart Campolo and Pete Greig. Our group of 30 young people were sent to the &lt;a href="http://willowfield.down.anglican.org/"&gt;Willowfield area&lt;/a&gt; of inner east Belfast.  During the 4 days there we were involved in running a Kids Club, street clean-ups, gardening, visiting the elderly and detached youth work.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;This was the first experience of practical mission for most of our young people and they were amazing as they carried on loving and serving people through tiredness and rain even when they didn't feel like it!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_3slc7IG5tKc/RpIhVha7SMI/AAAAAAAAACM/XQv_e5C3AUg/s1600-h/Summer+Madness+%26+Streetreach07+048.jpg"&gt;&lt;img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_3slc7IG5tKc/RpIhVha7SMI/AAAAAAAAACM/XQv_e5C3AUg/s200/Summer+Madness+%26+Streetreach07+048.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5085163582886987970" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;Streetreach finished on Saturday when all 2000 people gathered at the City Hall and marched 3.5 miles to the Kings Hall - this was an amazing experience and a privilege to be a part of.  In a country where 'marches' have been such a devisive issue it was wonderful to be part of a march declaring God's love for EVERYONE. 20:20 held in Edenmore.  We had 60 people in atten&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;dence with a great mix of both age groups and leaders. Everyone looked fantastically well as I'm sure you will agree from the photos, and I think everyone had a great night.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;After the meal &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;the l&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;eaders gave out awa&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;rds to various young people for a variety of things.  &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: trebuchet ms;"&gt;This year we have 50 young people attending &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: trebuchet ms;"&gt;Summer Madness and 35 are staying on for Streetreach! Don't forget 20:20 are splitting into boys (meet in Youth mobile at 8.45pm) and girls (meet at Rigmarole upper room at 8.30pm) for the first half of the evening.  We will come together for worship and some food at 10pm. On Saturday night my friend and I were sitting looking up at the Eiffel Tower (as you do on a Saturday night) and surrounded my thousands of people from all over the world who had clearly travelled to see this sight. She turned to me and asked &lt;em&gt;'What do you think?'&lt;/em&gt;. The typical response would have been&lt;em&gt; 'this is class'&lt;/em&gt; but yes even though I tought the Tower was big, it was well constructed, it looked amazing at night when it lit up and sparkled, I wasn't WOWed!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You can argue but I believe that being WOWed is when your heart skips a beat, when you think 'is this real?' and then realise it is, when all around is blaaahhh and all of a sudden out of no where God blesses you.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;God WOW's me through His people and His world. I've realised as I've travelled that God chooses to speak to me through the folk I meet and the natural beauty I've seen in mountains and sunsets.I dont have to travel to the other side of the world for this to happen! I hear kids in my class talk about God and I sit back, smile and think &lt;em&gt;'wow, thank you God for letting me hear that today'&lt;/em&gt;, I lived with a lady who was blind and going through chemo for the 4th time and never once did I hear her complain and I always thought &lt;em&gt;'wow, God you blessed me by putting me in her family'&lt;/em&gt;, I stand in the middle of you guys at 2020 during worship and think &lt;em&gt;'wow, God these kids love you',&lt;/em&gt; and I get texts, notes and emails from you girls and again think &lt;em&gt;'wow, thats exactly what I needed to hear right now, thank you God.'&lt;/em&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;One of the most memorable times in my life when God WOWed me was the Winter Retreat. I was WOWed by your attitude, your maturity, your fun, your openness, your faith and your witness. You guys blow me away, and God has such BIG plans for every single one of you. It's an excellent read with Rob Bell's unique and creative style of writing, and ability to draw so much context and depth from Scripture.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;One thing he writes about is singleness which resonated a lot with a conversation i had recently with a friend. Have you ever been chatting with someone who you maybe haven't seen in a while and they say to you 'well any girlfriends?' (or boyfriends, if that's your preference!). I have no problem with that question, and more often than not over the last 5 years my answer is 'No'! It's what sometimes happens next that i find frustrating. Their facial expression will change and their head will tilt a little to the side and they will say something like 'Ach well, sure it'll happen sometime!' Words of pity, as if my life is in some way incomplete or unfulfilled - it kinda makes me mad!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Rob Bell talks about this:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;blockquote style="font-style: italic;"&gt;'It's possible for destructive messages to be sent to people who are single. That they are second class, less than, that they don't fit, that they should find someone, get married, and join the rest of us who are "normal."&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you are single, and you've been sent messages or it's been hinted at or even said to your face that you are somehow missing something, that you aren't good enough, that you don't fit in - that is not true. It's not just that you're fine single. The premise of the Scriptures is that you are able to connect with God and serve God in ways that those who are married can't. The tilt is &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;for &lt;/span&gt;being single, not away from it.'&lt;/blockquote&gt;I meet people and their life revolves around finding a man/woman. They feel incomplete and believe their life will only really begin when they meet someone and get married. The sad thing is that God has a plan for their life NOW and they are completely missing out on it. I'm not saying relationships are wrong, on the contrary i think relationships are good, but being single is good too. I can't accept the view that one status is better than the other, they are just different. I completed my last exam in 2001 and i do not miss them in the slightest! As far as I'm concerned exams don't really test a person's knowledge/intelligence. In fact they are probably a more appropriate test of:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;ul style="font-family: trebuchet ms;"&gt;   &lt;li&gt;how fast you can write&lt;/li&gt;   &lt;li&gt;how well you can cope under pressure&lt;/li&gt;   &lt;li&gt;short term memory.&lt;/li&gt; &lt;/ul&gt; &lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;This is a personal frustration with exams and doesn't really help you as you face this season! As such i have copied from another site some 'Do's and Don'ts' to help you with exams.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;strong style="font-family: trebuchet ms; font-style: italic;"&gt;DOs &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;font-family:trebuchet ms;" &gt;Try to work to a revision timetable - start planning well before exams begin - your teacher should be able to help you with this.&lt;/span&gt;  &lt;p face="trebuchet ms" style="font-style: italic;"&gt;Make your books, notes and essays more user-friendly with summary notes, headings, sub-headings, highlighting and revision cards. Try using key words or spider charts. Get tips on other revision techniques from teachers and friends - do what works for you. &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p face="trebuchet ms" style="font-style: italic;"&gt;Everyone revises differently - find out what routine suits you best - alone or with a friend; morning or late at night; short, sharp bursts or longer revision sessions. &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="font-family: trebuchet ms; font-style: italic;"&gt;Take notes of important points when revising as an aid for future revision or if you need to clarify something with a teacher. Try explaining the answers to tricky questions to someone else, or look at past exam papers and try answering some of the questions. &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="font-family: trebuchet ms; font-style: italic;"&gt;Ask for help if there are things you don't understand. Others are gifted in creating things, others in sports or music. Others have fantastic imaginations and others are gifted in social skills. There are so many different gifts and abilities that God has blessed us with and no set of gifts is better than another. Sadly we have an education system that still seems to promote 'academic' gifts above the rest that leaves many young people feeling less valuable or even stupid. This is simply not true - to believe that is to say that God made some of us better than others and that would not be a God of love.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="font-family: trebuchet ms;"&gt;So do not let this exam time stress you out to a point that is simply unhealthy. As you know our society and culture is the 'Hi I'm fine' place, where too often well-placed masks disguise lives that are full of hurt, suffering and despair. Pride, fear of not being listened to, or of being dismissed, can prevent us from being honest with issues and problems we face. It is true, that sadly as humans, we are often not bov-vered enough to see beyond a friend's weak smile or sensitive behaviour. But guys, we are a blessed family of believers...living amongst a community full of hurts, emptiness and lonliness. Learning how to be true friends and how to serve those in our wee worlds can be difficult...it's hard sometimes to know what to say to someone or how to encourage them. That's when we need God's help...of our own strength we can accomplish very little, but with the power of his Holy Spirit within us, he can use us mightily to bring His truth, love and healing into the lives of those we care about or NEED to care about.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Jesus, our role model and teacher, was and is ALWAYS bov-vered. No problem is too big or too impossible for him to overcome and turn around. Sometimes we just forget to ask him or don't truly believe that he actually would want to hear about us and our fears..but he DOES!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;em&gt;'Come to me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest.' &lt;/em&gt;Matthew 11 v 28&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What ever you do today and whoever you are spending time with, ask God to use you to bring his love and power into their lives. Not only will he delight in your seeking heart, but he WILL hear your prayer and transform you to be more like Jesus in the process.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;em&gt;'Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! For those who didn't know some of the church headed away to sunny Bulgaria to ski last week! What a fantastic week it was too! The picture is some of us taking in the view at the top of 'The Wall' (a very tough ski run so named 'cos it was as steep as a wall, I suppose!) You'll be glad to know that I conquered the wall before leaving, and what a feeling it was too!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But anyway, we had a cracking time! Met some new people and made many excellent memories, and all without breaking my leg!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;One of the most enjoyable parts of each day is when you are going up the mountain on the ski lift.  Take a ride up by yourself and you suddenly find yourself alone, surrounding by the majesty of God. The only noise is the rustle of the wind in the trees and the occasional sound of a ski on snow below! When you turn around you can see for miles and miles! Such wonderful creation made for our enjoyment really displays God's greatness! And so while every day was filled with much laughter, skiing, exhaustion and, at times, a little vomiting (ask Mr Stoddart) we were able to take a few minutes out to appreciate who God was! After all, if he created all this for us, how very capable is he of handling the ins and outs of our lives! And with that encouraging thought I'll leave! I had a speaker lined up to come but don’t feel it  would be appropriate to let him come and speak to a half empty room!  Therefore  we have decided to cancel &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;" lang="EN-GB"&gt;20:20&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;" lang="EN-GB"&gt; worship and  speaker.  If you would like to still come along to the mobile at  &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;" lang="EN-GB"&gt;9pm&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;" lang="EN-GB"&gt; then myself  and some of the leaders are going to grab a chip together and have a bit of a  laugh.  &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;" lang="EN-GB"&gt;FUSION will be happening as normal  from &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;" lang="EN-GB"&gt;7-9pm&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;" lang="EN-GB"&gt; tomorrow  night.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As you are probably already aware,  Fusion and &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;" lang="EN-GB"&gt;20:20&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;" lang="EN-GB"&gt; will be  taking a break until after Easter and will resume as normal on &lt;b&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;FRIDAY 20&lt;sup&gt;TH&lt;/sup&gt;  APRIL.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;   &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;" lang="EN-GB"&gt;We are planning a bit of an &lt;b&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Easter Sunday Night thing (8&lt;sup&gt;th&lt;/sup&gt;  April)&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt; in the mobile involving some worship, sharing the Easter story  and prayer. I'm sure you all know that some of us leaders were away over the weekend at an event called 'NUA' (which means 'new') We were down in sunny Co. Mayo, and on Saturday watched Ireland fail in the rugby at the very last hurdle - oh it brought tears to my eyes!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Anyways, first thing to say is: how much I missed 2020 on Friday! I had an amazing weekend, but somehow missing all you guys and the craic from you all left a little hole in my heart! I look forward to coming down on Friday nights throughout the week and I know that the rest of the leaders feel the same! Hopefully you all have the same sense of 'Roll on Friday' as we all do!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Secondly, I thought I'd impart some wisdom that I have been thinking about this week! At the weekend there we learnt lots of new worship songs (hopefully they'll make their way to the 2020 scene soon!). One of them went like this:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;'You are the everlasting God&lt;br /&gt;Everlasting God&lt;br /&gt;You do not faint&lt;br /&gt;You won't grow weary!'&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It's based on Psalm 40 v 28 (go have a read of it). Isn't it encouraging though to know that even when we grow tired of life, and sometimes even tired of faith, and weary from the busy-ness of it all, that God himself, who is everlasting, never grows tired of us, of loving us, of desiring to know us! Isn't that awesome!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So next time you grow tired and weary of school, of life, or work etc, just remember that  those who trust in the Lord "shall run and not grow weary"!! Renew your strength with God and you can &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;rise on wings like eagles. . .&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Hope school is not too much work ( it is Wednesday night and I have 1 more hour of class this week!!!) So I'm gonna set the record straight - when I had it, it worked fine. Granted, that I only had it for 3 months and it rained the whole time, so it could really not be wrong, but nonetheless, it worked! Maybe the icons identifying the weather are just open to interpretation. &lt;strong&gt;A good workman never blames his tools! SO,&lt;/strong&gt;If you want to know the weather PETE, look outside! Don't be looking at a clock that probably tells the wrong time! (Glad to get that off my chest!) It comes in a nifty blue colour though. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;DON'T FORGET - "WEDNESDAY ADAMS" playing at 7pm in 20:20 ROOM, MONDAY 19TH!&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;How good is 20:20 going at the moment? Don't y'all agree?4 new faces on Friday night which was fantastic to see! Keep bringing your friends and get them to come and join our 'wee family'! &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;Neil and I were talking earlier tonight - he was away this weekend along with some of the other leaders and he was saying that when he's not there he misses it. I agree with him. When I'm not with y'all on Friday night I feel I've missed out too(and I'm sure all of the leaders will agree). I miss the praise, the craic, the love, the community, the smiles, the building of relationships between me and you, or between you and others. I miss how we all learn together about God's Kingdom and Glory and how when we sing praise together, there is a real sense of unity between everyone all praising the same awesome God! That unity we have is hard to break - but it's not an exclusive club. I want it to be a club that is easy to join, but hard to leave! That people who are looking in, want to be apart of it, and then are invited to be apart of it! Afterall, God welcomes everyone into His Kingdom, why shouldn't we? He also looks after those in His Kingdom, why shouldn't we? Easy to join, hard to leave.&lt;br /&gt;The clock reads 2.10am. Just wanted to tell you guys and gals a little of what’s on my heart. Firstly, I never ever ceased to be amazed at how God uses so many forums to speak the same message, all around the same time…maybe cos I talk too loudly and he knows it, so he has to shout a little more with me!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Why am I telling you all this…well basically God has been speaking to me about ‘identity’ for quite a while now and particularly in the last year. If you were in church last night, Philip spoke about how we need to make sure the &lt;strong&gt;Cross&lt;/strong&gt; defines us and determines our identity. It’s so easy for us, even as Sons and Daughters of God, to allow our identities to be determined by other’s opinions, appearance, performance, status. What we look like, what subjects we study, what career we choose, who we hang out with…these are things we can care too much about and seek to be known by.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I love being a mum and nurturing my wee loves. But that became more important to me than God and only when Rose died did I understand that. I trust that he has the best plan for my life and if I am seeking his will &lt;strong&gt;DAILY&lt;/strong&gt;, then even if I am not sure how things will work out, I know and believe God does….that’s fantastic because times when it’s been me in charge have always gone &lt;strong&gt;badly &lt;/strong&gt;pear-shaped! God wants my identity to be first and foremost as a Daughter of his, and being a wife, mummy, sister, friend comes next.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Folks I urge you to be honest with yourselves and particularly with God. He is always there waiting for us and offering his forgiving grace lovingly, if we have been finding our identities in areas other than in Him.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;em&gt;'So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught and overflowing with thankfulness. See to it that no-one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ. To me this is something we all probably take for granted and I wanted to challenge you all to think about it and maybe thank the loved ones around you. &lt;strong&gt;Without their support in my opinion anyway, my Cristian life may not have taken such an comfortable route as it has over the years to date.&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span style="color:#000066;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span style="color:#000066;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span style="color:#000066;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span style="color:#000066;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span style="color:#000066;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt; &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span style="color:#000066;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt; &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span style="color:#000066;"&gt;Secondly i put the picture of the church above in to highlight the fact that I feel that &lt;strong&gt;there is always somebody for me to turn to&lt;/strong&gt;, whether it be &lt;em&gt;friends&lt;/em&gt; or the &lt;em&gt;fantastic commuinty within the church&lt;/em&gt;. They are always there for support, from football on a monday night to fusion/20:20 to church on a sunday we are so blessed to have people that are willing to support us at anytime we need it.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span style="color:#000066;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span style="color:#000066;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span style="color:#000066;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt; &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span style="color:#000066;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt; &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span style="color:#000066;"&gt;I have had so many other thoughts of how I am so blessed by God in my life so if you want to share more simply comment and I'll get chatting but I want to challenge you all this week...&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span style="color:#000066;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span style="color:#000066;"&gt;We all moan about how we have troubles in our life and I am guilty of this too so... for this week &lt;strong&gt;let's just pray to God and thank Him for the wonderful things that He has given to us&lt;/strong&gt;. Where are the places that i am reminded of who God is?  Where are my altars?  For me these are mostly places of great beauty and tranquility where i am reminded of our Creator God and all that he has done for me.  Oxford Island would be one, the Mournes another.  White Park Bay is also a favourite.  Ive built a few altars in Castlewellan Park down through the years too as a place where i have connected with God and He has blessed me.  Most recently i had a God moment in Donegal, late at night on a isolated beach sitting around a camp fire with a group of young people sharing life.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I need places like this in my life where i can go and be reminded of who God is and be blessed by Him there.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What about you?  Where are the places that God reminds you of who He is?  Where have you built altars and experienced His blessing? Chris here!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;It's 2am in the morning and I can't seem to sleep - it's either because I had 2 pieces of pizza too many just hours ago &lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;or&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt; it's the fact that I can't stop thinking that you guys (yes 20:20 AND fusion) are making me so excited about whats going to happen in the future of our little land&lt;em&gt;!(Our little land is where you want it to be - it could be Waringstown or the whole of Northern Ireland, all the same it's our little land.)&lt;/em&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;You all know it's election results day today, and although my political knowledge is limited, I do know this - I gave Jesus my vote a long time ago! We have to act as His "Ambassadors" on earth and follow through with all that He asks of us.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;Our "little land" has a future depending on YOU! Something I know for sure is that the campaign has started, and everyone so far is doing a great job! I hope you were able to find it easily enough.  In order to make it easier for future visits i want you do do one of two things right now:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt; &lt;ol style="font-family: trebuchet ms;"&gt;   &lt;li&gt;Set this page as your 'home page'; or,&lt;/li&gt;   &lt;li&gt;Bookmark this page so you can get here in one click!&lt;/li&gt; &lt;/ol&gt; &lt;span style="font-family: trebuchet ms;"&gt;So what's the purpose of WPC-YM blog i hear you cry?  Several answers to that question:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt; &lt;ul style="font-family: trebuchet ms;"&gt;   &lt;li&gt;I guess it's really to engage in conversation and dialogue amongst ourselves using the resource of the net.&lt;/li&gt;   &lt;li&gt;It's an opportunity to carry on discussions that may come up in Fusion or 20:20 on a Friday night.&lt;/li&gt;   &lt;li&gt;The blog will be used to point you in the direction of other net resources that may be useful for your spiritual journey.&lt;br /&gt;  &lt;/li&gt;   &lt;li&gt;This blog will be a place where we as leaders can make you aware of upcoming events or trips.&lt;/li&gt; &lt;/ul&gt; &lt;span style="font-family: trebuchet ms;"&gt;I hope you will not be afraid to leave comments on posts that appear here.  If you do make a comment then it won't appear until it has been approved by me or another blog administrator (Chris or Jenny) - we will try and do this on a regular basis.
